Free really means free.
No retainer, no hidden charges, no fine-print clauses. You don’t pay us a penny unless you choose to commission the full build afterwards.
About
Boring Software is a small UK studio. We don’t have a decade of case studies to point at. So we made an offer instead: tell us your idea, and we’ll build you a working prototype, free.
Why we’re doing this
Most software studios sell trust. They show a client list, a logo wall, a few case studies, and you decide whether their track record is enough to risk a big budget on. That model works fine if you’ve been around for a decade and have the receipts to prove it.
We don’t. We’re a small new UK studio, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. So instead of asking you to trust us based on words alone, we’ll just build you something. Two weeks of focused work, no charge, no contract. At the end of it you've seen a working web, mobile or desktop prototype, and you have a much better idea of whether we’re the team you want to build the full thing with.
If we’re not, no charge, no chasing, no follow-up sales calls. If we are, we quote the full build. Either way, you’ve seen us actually working before you commit anything. That’s more than most agencies offer at any price.
We stay small on purpose. No offshoring, no junior tier fronted by senior staff at sales meetings, no surprise resourcing change halfway through. The people you meet on the first call are the people who write your code.
What we believe
If a project needs us to drop one of these, it isn’t a project for us.
No retainer, no hidden charges, no fine-print clauses. You don’t pay us a penny unless you choose to commission the full build afterwards.
Every prototype we ship is real running code on real infrastructure. No Figma frames, no demo videos, no pretend.
You don't sign anything to see what we can build. If you commission the full build, it's a standard work-for-hire engagement and the code is yours from day one. Until then, no contract, no obligations either way.
If your idea isn’t the kind of thing we can usefully prototype in two weeks, we’ll tell you before we start. We’d rather lose a project than ship something half-finished.
The company
The basic facts, in case you need them for a supplier form.
Ready to see what we can do?
Tell us what you’re trying to build. A 30-minute call, a one-page brief, or a long voice note. Whichever is easiest. We’ll come back inside two working days with whether we can build a useful prototype, and what it would look like.
